I purchased my first multifamily rental property in Hawthorne in 1985, and am committed to expanding and maintaining my own properties. When I evaluate the increase in value of the investments I have made I think my property is working as hard as I am! I very much enjoy my role as a landlord.  I have completed the City of Portland's Landlord Training Program and can recommend from personal experience the satisfaction of providing a rental home.

After taking the first step of purchasing your property there are lots of things to learn and experience as you grow in your knowledge of how best to comply with all landlord laws and regulations covering ownership and operation.  I have learned much over time.  To help you benefit from my experience I have accumulated some handy information I hope you will find helpful.

Below you will find links to help you estimate your rent, links to forms for everything from rental applications to smoking policies, and web sites you can use to identify attracitve tenant neighborhood features to use in your advertising.  There is a section of general information that will link you to the Oregon Landlord Tenant Law and the carbon monoxide requirements for owners.  And I have included a V-Flyer link so you will be able to create a flyer template showing pictures and features.  You can quickly upload  it to Craig's list every time that unit is vacant.
